Frequently Asked Questions
About Actia
What is Actia AI?
Actia AI is a collaborative AI agent platform for everyday business operations. It enables companies to deploy AI agents that communicate with customers across phone, email, chat, and messaging while working alongside staff through the Actia Console.
How is Actia different from a chatbot?
Actia agents are not limited to answering questions in a website chat window. They can communicate across multiple channels, perform assigned business tasks, report their activity, ask staff for guidance, and participate in ongoing operational workflows.
What can Actia agents do?
Actia agents can support a wide range of customer-facing and operational activities, including answering calls, responding to inquiries, qualifying leads, handling service requests, following up with customers, gathering information, and escalating matters to staff when appropriate.
The exact responsibilities of each agent depend on how the company configures and instructs it.
Are Actia agents fully autonomous?
Actia agents operate with adjustable autonomy. They can handle routine work independently while referring complex, sensitive, or unusual situations to staff.
A company can begin with close staff supervision and expand an agent's responsibilities as confidence grows.
Working with Staff
How do staff work with Actia agents?
Authorized staff collaborate with agents through the Actia Console. Agents can report activity, ask questions, request approval, and hand off matters that require human attention. Staff can review conversations, provide guidance, and give agents additional instructions.
Do staff interactions count toward usage limits?
No. Routine collaboration between authorized staff and agents through the Actia Console does not count as a customer interaction.
Plan allowances apply to communications between agents and customers, prospects, and other external parties. Voice usage is measured separately in minutes.
How many staff members can use the Actia Console?
Each plan includes a specified number of authorized staff users:
- Basic: up to 5 staff users
- Pro: up to 10 staff users
- Max: up to 25 staff users
- Enterprise: customized
Additional capacity may be available depending on the deployment.
Can several staff members work with the same agent?
Yes. Multiple authorized staff members can communicate with and support the same agent. This allows agents to work across teams while still seeking help from the appropriate people when necessary.
Plans and Pricing
What plans does Actia offer?
Actia offers four platform plans:
- Basic, for a focused initial deployment
- Pro, for several connected business functions
- Max, for broader operational use
- Enterprise, for larger or specialized deployments
Each plan includes a defined number of active agents, authorized staff users, voice minutes, and customer interactions.
What is a customer interaction?
A customer interaction is a communication between an Actia agent and a customer, prospect, or other external party through email, chat, messaging, or a similar digital channel.
Routine staff collaboration through the Actia Console is included and does not count toward this allowance. Voice calls are measured separately in minutes.
What happens if we need more capacity?
Additional capacity and customized plans are available. Companies with higher requirements for agents, staff users, voice usage, customer interactions, integrations, or support can contact Actia to discuss an appropriate arrangement.
Can we change plans later?
Yes. Companies can move to a different plan as their use of Actia grows or their requirements change.
Is there a long-term contract?
Contract terms depend on the selected plan and deployment. Standard subscriptions are designed to be straightforward, while larger Enterprise deployments may involve an annual agreement or customized commercial terms.
Deployment and Setup
How long does it take to deploy an Actia agent?
Simple agents can be configured and put to work in minutes. The exact timing depends on the agent's responsibilities, required information, communication channels, and any integrations involved.
A focused deployment may be completed much faster than a broader multi-agent implementation.
Do we need technical staff to use Actia?
No. Actia is designed for ordinary businesses rather than specialist AI development teams.
Some integrations or advanced workflows may require technical assistance, but companies can configure and manage standard agents without building their own AI infrastructure.
Can agents be customized for our business?
Yes. Agents can be configured with company information, operating instructions, responsibilities, escalation rules, communication style, and access to appropriate applications or business data.
Can we have more than one agent?
Yes. Depending on the plan, a company can deploy multiple agents with different responsibilities. For example, separate agents might support sales, service, or customer support.
Can agents make outbound calls or send messages?
Yes. Subject to configuration, applicable laws, and the company's instructions, Actia agents can make outbound calls, send emails, send messages, and follow up with customers or prospects.
Applications and Integrations
Does Actia connect with other business applications?
Actia can be connected with business applications and data sources where appropriate. Available integrations will expand over time, and custom integrations may be available for larger deployments.
What are Actia apps?
Actia apps are optional collaborative business applications designed for access by both staff and AI agents as first-class users. They are intended to support operational functions such as Sales, Service, and Support in a shared working environment.
These applications are licensed separately from the Actia Agent Platform.
Are apps included in the platform subscription?
No. The Actia Agent Platform and Actia collaborative apps are separate products.
The platform subscription covers the deployment and operation of agents, communications usage, and staff collaboration through the Actia Console. Collaborative apps provide additional line-of-business functionality and are licensed separately.
Do AI agents require separate app licenses?
App licensing is based primarily on human staff users. Actia agents associated with the customer's platform plan can work in subscribed applications without requiring an additional human user license.
Reliability, Oversight, and Security
What happens when an agent does not know what to do?
The agent can ask authorized staff for guidance, escalate the matter, or hand the interaction over for human review. Companies can define when an agent should proceed independently and when it should seek assistance.
Can staff review what agents are doing?
Yes. The Actia Console provides staff with visibility into agent activity and customer interactions so they can review work, provide instructions, and intervene when necessary.
How does Actia protect company and customer information?
Actia uses a secure, cloud-based architecture designed for business use. Access is controlled, customer environments are logically separated, and data is handled in accordance with Actia's privacy and security practices.
Specific security, retention, and contractual requirements can be discussed for Enterprise deployments.
Does Actia replace employees?
Actia is designed to work alongside existing staff. Agents can take on routine and repetitive work, extend service availability, and help staff manage customer activity more efficiently.
Human staff remain responsible for oversight, judgment, and the situations where personal attention matters most.
Getting Started
How do we know which plan is right for us?
Basic is suited to one focused use case. Pro is designed for companies deploying several connected functions and is the best fit for many initial business deployments. Max supports broader use across teams, while Enterprise is intended for larger or more specialized requirements.
Actia can help determine the appropriate starting point based on the work you want agents to perform.
How do we get started?
Companies can sign up for the Actia AI platform directly through the website. A series of easy-to-use wizards guides customers through creating an account, building a company knowledge base, and selecting and instructing an agent.
Once setup is complete, authorized staff can sign in to the company's Actia AI workspace to collaborate with agents, review activity, provide guidance, and help manage customer interactions.
